Welcome to Francesco Romano

Since September 1st 2019, the LMFL will benefit from the expertise of a new permanent member. Francesco Romano just started as Associate Professor at ENSAM-ParisTech, Lille.

In 2016 he completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at TU Wien, Austria, with a research focus on Fluid Dynamics, Numerical Methods and Dynamical Systems. During his Ph.D. he also held the position of University Assistant at TU Wien. After his Ph.D., he remained affiliated at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Heat Transfer, TU Wien, as University Assistant and Post-Doc Researcher for 1.5 years, mentoring several Intern, Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. students and keeping his teaching activity. In April 2017 he moved to the United States, where he was granted of a Research Fellowship at the University of Michigan until August 2019, when he moved to Lille. His experience with national and international research teams has developed in the framework of FFG (The Austrian Research Promotion Agency), ESA and NIH projects, to which he gave his contribution by editing the funded proposals, supervising and taking an active role in the research. His collaborations involved industrial and academic partners from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Japan, Turkey, United States, and recently, France.
